Jonah Hex Poster and Official Movie Synopsis

Jonah Hex (Josh Brolin) is a scarred drifter and bounty hunter of last resort, a tough and stoic gunslinger who can track down anyone…and anything. Having survived death, Jonah’s violent history is steeped in myth and legend, and has left him with one foot in the natural world and one on the “other side.” His only human connection is with Leila (Megan Fox), whose life in a brothel has left her with scars of her own.

But Jonah’s past is about to catch up with him when the U.S. military makes him an offer he can’t refuse: in exchange for his freedom from the warrants on his head, he must track down and stop the dangerous terrorist Quentin Turnbull (John Malkovich). But Turnbull, who is gathering an army and preparing to unleash Hell, is also Jonah’s oldest enemy and will stop at nothing until Jonah is dead. Based on the legendary graphic novel, “Jonah Hex” is an epic adventure thriller about one man’s personal quest for redemption against the vast canvas of the battle between good and evil.

Jonah Hex blazes theaters on June 18, 2010.

Tobey Maguire on the fourth Spider-man movie

Tobey Maguire talked about Spider-man 4 and being reluctant in playing the Amazing Arachnid for the 3rd sequel.

"It’s not that I was reluctant. For me, it’s a big process to decide whether or not to do a role...I have to want to wake up in the morning and feel like I can’t wait to get to work. I’ve got to feel okay about leaving my kids for 12 or 13 hours a day for five months. It’s a big commitment."

"Hopefully I’ll be able to evolve the character in a new direction. He’ll still be Peter Parker, but I hope I can move him forward a bit and take him to a place where there will be new challenges for me as an actor."

[POSTER] Iron Man and War Machine in IRON MAN 2

Nothing much too say.... but this is truly BADASS! bring on Iron Man 2

[PICS] Justice Society in Smallville!

They might look cheesy and fanmade, but they definitely scream Superhero. There is no denying that that is Hawkman, Dr. Fate and Stargirl.

Superhero Movie Evolution

Here's a chart of how the Superhero Movies evolve from humble beginnings to blockbuster extravaganza:

Are we up for a Robert Downey, Jr. less Avengers Movie?

Here's What Mr. Downey has to say about his career and what are his plans:

"I have no set plans for my future. I’ve never had it this good — this is my day in the sun — and I certainly don’t want to look a gift horse in the molars. But [my wife] Susan and I want to begin to be in our lives as much as we are in our jobs. I’d love just to sit here and say, 'What movie’s playing tonight?' I’d love to finish the new book about D-day I’m reading. I love painting, I love music.

I’m f***ing really good at what I do — and have been for a long time, so I don’t waver on that. But here’s the thing: I can only be a guy on a call sheet probably, I don’t know, maybe a couple more times. It’s something I’m so grateful to have in my palm, and yet I already see its inevitable decay. If Sherlock Holmes performs well, I could be busy for the next 5 or 7 or 10 years."

Natalie Portman why he took the role in Marvel's Thor

Here is Natalie's thoughts on the Thor movie directed by Kenneth Brannagh.

"I just thought it sounded like a weird idea because Kenneth Branagh's directing it, so I was just like, 'Kenneth Branagh doing 'Thor' is super-weird. I've gotta do it.'"

Paul Bettany on returning to Iron Man 2

Some of you might be wondering was Paul Bettany part of the first Iron Man? Actually Bettany's character is the closest to Iron Man on the first movie because he voiced JARVIS. The A.I. that runs Tony Stark's house then the other voice in the Iron Man armor. JARVIS is an upgrade from the comics, where he is the Avenger's Butler.

When IGN caught up with Bettany, and ask if he will reprise his role in IM2, he said that he's not sure if he'll reprise his role and then added that he barely remembers doing the first one.

"It's as mysterious to me as it was the first time. And this is absolutely true: I was on the set of Legion. It was the weekend after Iron Man opened, and some of the crew came in and were like, 'Hey, I was listening to Iron Man. You're in Iron Man, right?' 'No, I'm not.' And they said, 'Well, it sounds like you.' And then I went, 'Oh, wait! I am!,'" Bettany recalled with a laugh.

"It was an hour['s worth of work]. I got rung up. The director [Jon Favreau], who I know and have worked with as actors [in Wimbledon], said, 'Do you wanna do this thing?' 'Yeah, sure. F*** it. I'll do Iron Man.' I went in. He's a very funny human being, obviously, and I laughed my ass off for about an hour. Literally said a couple of lines, went downstairs, got in a cab and went home," Bettany said. "And I had, swear to God, wiped it out of my mind. People would say to me, 'You're in Iron Man!' 'No, I'm not. Oh, no, yeah, I suppose I am!' So, it's [just] as mysterious. I don't know what I'm doing, whether I come back or not."

Marvel's Ultimate Scribe Brian Michael Bendis has seen Iron Man 2

Bendis the architect of Marvel's Ultimate line tweet about Iron Man 2.

Here is the tweet:
Btw saw iron man 2 last night. :) don't ask me a god damn thing. I am sworn to secrecy! Just like to tell u I saw it. Enjoy 2012 :)

One thing I could say is that I envy him... why can't IM2 get here any sooner!

Idris Elba is Heimdall in Thor

It is being reported that Idris Elba will be part of the Asgardian Pantheon playing Heimdall, the guardian of Asgard.

VIDEO:Stan Lee's Cameo on Marvel's Thor

"I had lunch with Branaugh, who's the nicest guy in the world as well as the most talented. Months ago, when he was first starting on the movie, he said he would get a cameo for me."

"I haven’t heard from him since, but I think he has more important things to think of at the moment with the movie — like who he’s casting in it and how he’s going to film it," said Lee. "But I’m sure they’ll have something for me.

"When we had lunch, I was sure he had asked me to lunch because he wanted me to play Odin, but it was a big disappointment. I figure I’ll end up carrying his spear."

Faran Tahir is Talking Mandarin

Raza, Faran Tahir, the leader of the Ten Rings in the first Iron Man movie thinks that there is a connection between his character and the Iron Man Villain the Mandarin. In the comics Mandarin possesses this 10 magical rings to fight the technologically advance Iron Man. Tahir is even thinking that Raza and the Mandarin might be one and the same. He now seems pretty sure that the Mandarin will have an appearance soon.

Here is Tahir has to say about the subject:

"At some point, they want to introduce Mandarin into the storyline and my character, like Mandarin, was the leader of the Ten Rings," said Tahir. "We're leaving it open because, partly, it makes good business sense for us to leave a little bit of uncertainty for people to speculate on."

"[Favreau] has known for a long time where he wants to take it and I don't want to speak for him, but my feeling is that the second movie didn't want to just follow a singular storyline. They wanted to expand the characters to show that it's not a linear saga like Lord Of The Rings. There's a linkage somewhere in there, but the big idea is to do at least one more Iron Man! movie and then go into The Avengers!"

I think Mr. Tahir is just speculating right now, but if he indeed portrays the Mandarin you won't hear any resistance from me, considering that the actors ethnic lineage differs from the character, but I am okay with that.

Batman 3 (Dark Knight Sequel) will happen with or without Christopher Nolan

There are rumors that an official news on the upcoming sequel will be announced by WB and Nolan's camp this January. The source is saying that the longer sequel materializes the less likely Chris Nolan will return. WB will also use Nolan's latest film Inception to spark interest for a Dark Knight Sequel.

Though it is also revealed that Batman 3 is a go with or without Nolan directing. But WB is operating under the assumption that Nolan will return.

I hope Christopher Nolan returns, so that he could finish his opus, then after that I am okay for other directors trying their take on the World's Greatest Detective. - but definitely no to Schumacher!

Spider-man 4 plot?

Somebody emailed me the supposed Spider-man 4 plot.  Here's the message:

Full Message SPIDER-MAN 4 INSIDER PLOT SUMMARY
From: anon
Add to Contacts To: solomon genesis

Got this from an intern friend involved in storyboarding. It could be (and very well may be) a very creative fabrication, but it sounds awesome! His internship would be kaput if this lead back to him, but I had to share his summary! It has the return of Norman Osborne, the Scorpion, the Lizard, Black Cat, a new Venom, Alistair Smythe, and sets up for Carnage...AND IT ALL MAKES PERFECT SENSE. It also fills in the holes of the past 3 movies. AND he tells me they're thinking of using Bruce Campbell as Scorpion/New Venom! Again,I don't know how legit this is he could just be messing with me, but it stands alone worth reading. Enjoy-

Spider-Man 4 The movie opens with the marriage of Peter and Mary Jane. The marriage is oddly normal. Peter is more concerned that his spider-sense is NOT going off than anything else, leaving him distant and distracted. This upsets Mary Jane. Aunt May has a dizzy spell, and nearly faints, but contains herself without anyone noticing. The two go on honeymoon without a qualm, but with underlying tension. The next scene is one of Dr. Conners sequencing reptilian DNA codes in his office, late at night. He is startled when his sample of Peter's symbiote suddenly becomes violent, and breaks its casing in an attempt to escape. Dr. Conners quickly catches the specimen, and places it in a stronger container. We see the trapped symbiote hungrily advancing on the specimens it is placed next to, a large emperor scorpion, and a bearded dragon.

Rumored Batman 3 Posters

Take this with a grain of salt. Though the poster look nicely put. And there's a heavy reference on the Riddler. Which I think will be a smart idea for the next installment of Batman, we could see the Dark Knight's Detective Skills if he is up against the Riddler.

Thor has found it's Warrior's Three

Stuart Townsend, Ray Stevenson, and Tadanobu Asano to play The Warriors Three, on Kenneth Brannagh's helmed Marvel Movie - The Mighty Thor!.

The Warrior's Three are made up of Asgards elite warriors Fandral the Dashing, Hogun the Grim and Volstagg the Valiant. If we'll base it on their looks it seems like Stevenson will play Volstagg, Townsend as Fandral and Asano as Hogun.

The film stars Chris Hemsworth as the Mighty Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, other casts are Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Jaimie Alexander, Colm Feore, and Stellan Skarsgard; with Samuel L. Jackson returning as Nick Fury(possibly).

James McTeigue on the Superman Franchise

Rumored frontrunner to direct the next installment of the adventure of the Man of Steel has this to say about the franchise:

"[The Superman movie is] in a weird place at the moment. They're trying to work out what they're doing. Warner Brothers is trying to figure out their next move on it. There's some things you can do with the Superman franchise, there's other things you can't do. So it hasn't gone anywhere."

As long as they are doing something with Superman I'm ok. I just really hope that they speed up the process I don't want to wait another 20 years to see the next adventure of the Big Blue Boy Scout.

Dwayne Johnson would like to be in both Captain America and Captain Marvel

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson expressed interest in playing lead roles for DC's Shazam! and Marvel's The First Avenger: Captain America.

Here is what he has to say:

"I would love to, of course," Johnson said at Saturday's 'Planet 51' premiere in California.

"Especially 'Shazam,' Black Adam -- we have talked about that for such a long time," Johnson said. "I am not quite too sure what is happening with that right now. I am still always excited about that. As far as for 'Captain America,' sure, absolutely. If it's entertaining for the audiences, yeah."

He went on, "I was never big into comic books when I was a kid, but I do like comic book movies. I like the way they have gone. The adaptations are generally pretty cool."

In my opinion he would be great as Black Adam, perfect even but the talks of him playing Captain America that will just be plain wrong. Maybe he could play another character other than Captain America.

Here's Smallville's Hawkman

Here are the points in what Michael Shanks has to say about his role as Hawkman.

-There is flying involved (which would be stupid if there is none because he has those giant wings :))
-He won't be bare chested like in the comics, he will be wearing something of a bronze armor because the harness need something to attach itself to. The mask will also be in bronze.
-First time we will meet carter hall will be in a museum, here we learn that he is a reincarnated prince from 1000 years ago.
-He gives clark advices on flying
-There will be reference to other Society members aside from the other 2 involve in the show (Dr. Fate and Stargirl).
-There will be antagonism between Hawkman and Green Arrow because of different political views.
-Smallville characters not hearing about the Justice Society prior the episode is a plot point.
-Dr. Fate and Hawkman have a long history. Dr. Fate’s helmet is possessed by an Egyptian deity, which allows his to see into people’s possible futures. He also teleports. Stargirl is brand new to them and I’m not exactly sure what she does. She wasn’t part of the Society with them. And there are some trust issues with Martian Manhunter that are going to need to be dealt with.
-Villain of the episode will have a history with the Justice Society
-There's reference to Hawkgirl

Smallville's Justice Society Episode a TV Movie

EW's Michael Ausiello states that the two-part Justice Society episode of Smallville is going to be aired as a TV movie event. The episode is scheduled to air January 29th.

The episodes which was written by fan favorite comicbook writer Geoff Johns, entitled "Society" and "Legends", features famous DC Characters -Hawkman, Dr. Fate and a Johns' personal creation Stargirl. The episodes were originally planned to be aired separately but CW execs feels that it would be better to combine them.

I think this is great new for all of us Smallville fans.

Thor loses Zachary Levi, he would have been one of the Warrior's Three

Zachary Levi who is well known as TV's Chuck will no longer play Thor's comrade, Fandral, one of the Warriors Three. The actor had already been working out for the role, but had to walk away when they got the extra pickup.

Levi admits that producers had asked him to audition for the role of the usually beefy God of Thunder, but told them no. “I’m tall and in pretty good shape, but I’m not big and girthy like that,” he says.

Production Weekly reports that Marvel will begin shooting their next movie Thor in January.

The film which eyed LA first as its location, then later move to Santa Fe, and now has settled in New Mexico, between March and late-April.

British Thespian and a damn good "Shakespearean" director Kenneth Brannagh is set to direct actors Chris Hemsworth as the titular thunder god, Tom Hiddleston as the nefarious half-brother and trickster god-Loki, Natalie Portman the love interest and Anthony Hopkins as the all seeing Odin in this highly anticipated film. Thor is currently scheduled to hit theaters on May 20th, 2011.

DC/Wildstorm's "RED" adds four actors

Batman's Butler informs us that there might be no Dark Knight sequel? Ever?

In an interview with Shortlist, a British magazine, Michael Caine who is known to us as Bruce Wayne's trusty Butler, was asked about his involvement in the next Nolan Directed Batman. This is what he has to say:

As for the future... if they ever make another Batman I will be in, I will be the butler...

Then quickly backtracks and said:

But I don't know if they are ever going to make another Batman. If they do it won't be for quite a while.

Dane Cooks wants to be the Riddler

"I love the new Dark Knight series and 'Batman Begins,'" Cook told MTV News when asked if he was interested in playing anycomic book characters, "If they brought back The Riddler—a new Riddler the way they did with The Joker—that would be bad-ass. I would do that."

"When they were making the new one and they were doing The Joker, I always thought it should be kind of like 'The Crow' — having that dark element but still comedic," said Cook of the type of Riddler he'd like to bring to the franchise. "It would probably have to be something in that vein, even though I think what Heath Ledger did with the Joker was the greatest comic book villain ever."

He is not my choice to be the Riddler in Nolan's Batman, but I don't know if given the chance he might be able to pull it off.

Shazam! Captain Marvel is heading to the big screen.

"Geoff and I are in the thick of it, creating a kickass update that still honors the lore that's been created in over 50 years of [Captain] Marvel storylines," said Birch, one of the co-writers for the screenplay Shazam!, the other writer is fan-favorite comic scribe Geoff Johns.  Peter Segal is still attach to direct the WB adaptation of the comic series.

Shazam! revolves around a teenager, Billy Batson, who was chosen as a champion by the wizard Shazam.  When Billy shouts the name of the wizard he transforms into the World's Mightiest Mortal - Captain Marvel.

Birch is fascinated by the simple wish fulfillment that the story provides, a kid just shouts a magic word and Shazam! he becomes a superhero.  That aspect will be central theme on the script.

The film may end up with a PG-13 rating, the writer added that it might not be as dark as the Dark Knight but definitely this will be cool.

"Tonally I think it's important to successfully find the balance of comedy and danger in the story. That's a major aspect I'm focusing on. Frankly hitting the right tone is what's going to either get this made or keep it in development hell."

No actors are yet attached for the movie but Dwayne Johnson as Captain Marvel may still be in the running.  The role of Billy Batson may go to an unknown.  The writer did point out that he had envisioned Ryan Reynolds to play Captain Marvel but seeing that Reynolds is already set to play Green Lantern, it seems like that will not be happening.

"Howard Stark" gives us an update on Iron Man 2.

Actor John Slattery will portray Howard Stark, Tony Stark's father, in Iron Man 2.

He gives us an update on what's happening on Iron Man 2.  Here is what he has to say:

"As far as I know, they’re finished and I don’t know where it is right now. I saw [director] Jon Favreaurecently and he couldn’t be a better person to work with. That is a huge operation – he acted as though we had all the time in the world to shoot what we had to shoot, so he was very supportive and I’d work with the guy any time."

He pointed out the difference or lack of it in shooting Iron Man 2 with his other project Mad Men:

"There are a lot of special effects, there’s a green screen behind me and they’re showing some picture out a window, but in this particular example, no. You’re doing things that have a simple reality in whatever I’m doing in both instances...there really isn’t that much difference."

Iron Man 2 opens in theaters May 7, 2010!

Justice League and Justice League Unlimited: The Complete Series DVD

Mark your calendars because on Nov. 10, Warner Home Video is releasing the entire Justice League and the Justice League Unlimited animated series in a set of multi-disc containing 91 episodes. So, if you do not have this yet on this collection this is the right time to get the whole set. The animated series is one of the strongest animated adaptation of our beloved DC Superheroes, and it is also a great way to introduce friends who is not yet indoctrinated in the love of Comicbook Heroes.

The packaging for the DVD set, is a plastic case encased in a bigger shiny metal tin. Discs are one-sided, the first season are in widescreen format. Included also in the set is a disc full of bonus materials.

The price of the DVD might be on the steep side but scourging the internet you might be able to find significantly discounted prices. It might be a bit pricey but for 35 hours of pure colorful superheroics fun, to some of is it might be worth it.

I personally enjoyed the Justice League Unlimited episodes than the Justice League ones, but all in all I love the entire series.

I'm really happy with Marvel and DC's move in adapting their famous stories into animation. I think it helps usher in new readers to the comic media.

Amanda Waller to visit Smallville

Amanda Waller a staple on the DC Comic universe as a pain in backside of the DC heroes, will be a recurring role in Smallville.  She will be played by actress Pam Grier.  She will be introduced on the "Legends" episode that also features the Justice Society.

I think Amanda Waller is a good addition to the ever growing Smallville Universe.  Smallville is definitely moving towards a more familiar DC Universe.

Black Cat in Spider-man 4

Rachel McAdams has met with Spider-man producers for a role on the next Spidey outing.  McAdams is major contender for the role of Felicia Hardy, known in comic circles as the Black Cat.  A reluctant villain, cat burglar and sometime love interest for Spider-man.

Though Black Cat might not be the only villain on the next Spider-man film, chances are the Lizard whose presence has been felt in the three previous films in the form of his alter ego, Dr. Connors, might still be up for the main baddie role.  Though reports are said that Raimi and company are yet to cast a yet unnamed villain.

I for one would love the Lizard to be the major villain on Spider-man 4, because we have invested already some time with his character with the other movies.  The introduction of Black Cat might be interesting, and may rejuvenate this franchise or just fizzles it out.

DC Vertigo's SCALPED being developed as a TV show?

The production is prioritize by the newly formed DC Entertainment

Jason Aaron's Scalped,a series from DC Vertigo, is gritty mix of crime fiction that is set in the world of present day Native Americans. The story revolves around Dashiell Bad Horse, a boozing and bitter young tough guy, who returns to his birth place in Prairie Rose Indian Reservation. He became a muscle for hire, who worked under a corrupt chief of the Oglala Lakota tribe name Lincoln Red Crow. In truth Bad Horse is an FBI agent, working to bring Red Crow down.

It's been reported that DC has planned to set up the project since the series debuted back in 2007. Now it seriously being considered under the newly formed DC Entertainment brand. Many high-profile writers are eager to pitch for the project. DCE is committed to bring this to the Small Screen, rather thanmake it a feature film, to accommodate the complexity of the story.
