TOMAR RE
Comic Book History
Who is TOMAR-RE?
TOMAR-RE is a DC Comics character, and a member of the intergalactic peace group the Green Lantern Corps. He debuted in Green Lantern #6 in a story written by John Broome with art by Gil Kane.
First Appearance
TOMAR-RE was a Xudarian, a race of aliens from the planet Xudar in Sector 2813. He was a scientist on his home world before joining the Green Lantern Corps and becoming the Green Lantern of Sector 2813.
TOMAR-RE with his kind
TOMAR-RE is a pivotal member of the Green Lantern Corps by training its new members.
Green Lantern TOMAR-RE's most famous dealt with the planet Krypton. Krypton, which is Superman's birth planet, was growing increasingly unstable. It was due to explode, TOMAR-RE sought to use a rare compound called stellarium to absorb some of the tectonic pressure. TOMAR-RE already gathered the compound, and was en route to Krypton when a yellow solar flare blinded him, and forced him to drop the stellarium. He quickly recovered, but discovered he was blind. He gathered what little stellarium he could without his sight, and proceeded towards Krypton. He was closing in when his vision started to clear. The first thing he saw upon his sight returning was Krypton exploding. The Guardians recovered Tomar and brought him back to Oa, where he healed and rested.
TOMAR-RE later grew to an honored senior member of the Green Lantern Corps.
The death of TOMAR-RE came at the hands of the villain Goldface. His ring chose another earthman as its successor, John Stewart.
In the Blackest Night event, all of the fallen Green Lanterns in the Oan crypt are reanimated by black power rings in Green Lantern Corps, TOMAR-RE is among the many Black Lanterns shown standing against the Green Lanterns on Oa.

To those who are making requests, check first [here] because I might have done an article on the character already. If I have not, please be patient, I will get on it as soon as possible (but consider the fact that I spend hours writing one of these articles). Try to limit your request to characters that already have been adapted to live media, so that the feature will at least be relevant to the site – Comic Book Movie(though I include TV characters). Characters in Manga or Anime’, I am not particularly familiar of, I am not discounting these characters but it will probably take some time before I write a feature on them because I have to read up on these characters. Thank you for reading these articles! If there are errors on the feature article above, blame it on my age, humanity and ignorance. Just be sure to check the comment section for the corrections, any error I made will surely be pointed out and corrected by much bigger geeks (because there will always be a bigger geek out there). -This has been PollMaster inviting you to the geekside.
