CHANGING APPEARANCES
First Costume
GAMBIT first wore a rather unique form-fitting costume, when he joined the X-Men, with the pants and sleeves colored black with stripes of magenta and the torso entirely magenta. He also wore knee-high metallic boots, fingerless gloves and a headdress and was rarely seen without a long brown trenchcoat.
X-Men Costume
For a short time, all X-Men, including GAMBIT, wore a new design of the classic blue and gold X-Men uniforms. GAMBIT combined this costume with his trademarked headdress and his coat.
Shi'ar Suit
GAMBIT, Rogue and Joseph were shanghaied into helping their Shi’ar friends against the threat of the Phalanx in outer space. GAMBIT wore some sort of Shi’ar uniform, that is a dark blue suit with some metallic bodyarmor elements.
X-Men Costume 2
When his involvement in the Mutant Massacre came to light, his teammates were angered and he was removed from the team. But GAMBIT was invited back, to resolve any problems they had. In his return he wore a re-designed costume, a blue-black bodysuit with a red scarf, belt with a tiny x-buckle, large metallic boots with red knee-caps and, of course, his trenchcoat and headdress.
X-Treme X-Men
When Storm led a team of X-Men in search of Destiny's diaries, the thirteen-volume Books of Truth, GAMBIT volunteered to join them. While running with this group he wore an entirely black bodysuit with a belt, combat boots, kneepads and other accessories all in the same color. This was, of course, off-set by his ubiquitous trenchcoat.
The Horseman Death
Upon the return of Apocalypse, GAMBIT submitted himself to the villain and was transformed into one of Apocalypse's Horsemen, Death. GAMBIT intended to infiltrate himself into Apocalypse's ranks in order to protect the X-Men from the Dark Lord's eventual betrayal, but he miscalculated, as the transformation process warped his mind as well as his body. After becoming Death, GAMBIT's hair turned white and his skin turned deep black. Despite having his mind and body twisted, GAMBIT retained a large portion of his former self, stating to Apocalypse, "I'm both Death and GAMBIT".
Curse of the Mutant
His days as Apocalypse's Death are behind him and he has returned to his old self. Nowadays his using his thieving skills for the good of his kind.
LIVE APPEARANCE
Taylor Kitsch plays GAMBIT in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. In the storyline Remy LeBeau is a former prisoner of William Stryker for 2 years, who was dubbed 'GAMBIT' from his guards as he kept beating them in poker. After two years he managed to escape the facility, but was later confronted by Wolverine, who wanted to know where Stryker's base was to destroy it. GAMBIT, mistakenly believing he was sent to recapture him, attacked and later interrupted a fight between Wolverine and Sabretooth, inadvertently letting Sabretooth escape and robbing Wolverine of his revenge. After Wolverine defeats him, GAMBIT sees he is sincere and flies him to Stryker's base. At the conclusion, GAMBIT briefly returns to his side, and, after Wolverine's memories are lost, tells him his 'name': Logan. He offers to help get Logan and Silverfox's body off the island, but Logan turns him down, stating he can find his own way.
POWERS & ABILITIES
Note: Due to the nature of comicbooks being an on-going tale, the character's powers along with his appearance, is in a constant state of flux.
Molecular Acceleration: Remy has the power to take the potential energy stored in an object and convert it to kinetic energy thus “charging” that item with explosive results.
Enhanced Agility: GAMBIT's ability to tap energy also grants him superhuman agility and dexterity which gives him an added edge he has used to his advantage by developing a unique acrobatic fighting style.
Static Interference: Ability to create static, because of the charged potential energy always in his body, that shields his mind from detection and intrusion by even the most powerful telepaths. The shield has the added effect of destabilizing touch based powers.
Hypnotic Charm: Ability to "charge" the kinetic energy within a person's brain, allowing a subtle influence over any sentient mind. This power allows GAMBIT to compel others to believe what he says and agree with anything he suggests. More powerful minds have proven immune to GAMBIT's charm.
AbilitiesBilingual: he is fluent in English and Cajun French.
Expert Marksman: he is profound in throwing small objects such as cards, bolas, knives, and balls with great accuracy.
Master Combatant: he is a profound fighter often employing martial arts, street fighting, and acrobatics. He is well adept in martial arts Savate, French kickboxing, and Bojutsu, the art of using a Bo staff.

This is the 44th article in my Know Your CBM Character series. Any requests and suggestions for an article for this series write it down in the comment section BELOW.Message to the CBM community:To those who are making requests, check first [here] because I might have done an article on the character already. If I have not please be patient, I will get on it as soon as possible (but consider the fact that I spend hours writing one of these articles). Try to limit your request to characters that already have been adapted to live media, so that the feature will at least be relevant to the site – Comic Book Movie(though I include TV characters). Characters in Manga or Anime’, I am not particularly familiar of, I am not discounting these characters but it will probably take some time before I write a feature on them because I have to read up on these characters. Thank you for reading these articles! If there are errors on the feature article above, blame it on my age, humanity and ignorance. Just be sure to check the comment section for the corrections, any error I made will surely be pointed out and corrected by much bigger geeks (because there will always be a bigger geek out there). -This has been PollMaster inviting you to the geekside. MABUHAY CBM and Godspeed!
