So who will be CAPTAIN AMERICA?

Well I don't know but you need not worry as Joe Johnston, director of Marvel's First Avenger: Captain America, assured us that it will be announced soon. Then we will all rejoice at the thought that someone is up to the task in wearing the Red, White and Blue Spandex.
Joe Johnston must be feeling the pressure to divulge any information regarding The First Avenger: Captain America. In an interview with SciFiWire, he commented on what stage the production is with casting:

"We need to cast it soon," he said. "We have a very short list, but we're still juggling actors here. I'd say within the next couple of weeks we'll have ourselves a Captain America, I hope."

Filming isn't scheduled to to begin until late June, and until now no definitive shooting locations have been revealed. "We're getting ready to go to the U.K., it looks like," says Johnston.

He seems just about as tight lipped regarding the film's story as he is with casting decisions. Here's the only information he was willing to reveal:

"It's the kind of thing where, while I'm not necessarily a comic-book fan, I think the interesting thing about this guy is that he's a superhero without any superpowers, basically. He is the epitome of human perfection. He can't fly and throw tanks around and see through walls and things like that, but he's strong and runs fast. And, of course, being a Marvel movie, there's fantastic action scenes in it and all kinds of great stuff. But there's an interesting story there as well."

If The First Avenger: Captain America is going to hit theaters on July 22, 2011 as planned, Johnston and his crew better start hustling.
